Abstract Note
Shared Services Canada (SSC) is in the process of transforming government IT infrastructure. A key component of this mandate is to provide a scalable, reliable, cost-effective Toll-Free Network Service (TFNS) that meets the requirements of SSC and its clients.
The TFNS must route calls originating from across Canada, international locations, and the United States to answering locations located throughout the provinces and territories within Canada. TFNS requirements range from traditional toll-free services (single toll-free number terminating at a single location) to more complex toll-free call routing configurations with toll-free numbers terminating at multiple sites across Canada.
The following universal toll-free requirements are necessary for day-to-day operations and considered essential for SSC and its clients.
